Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 24, 2026

We do not collect personal information through our mods.

Payments are processed by Stripe under its Privacy Policy: https://stripe.com/privacy. We may receive your name, email address, billing information, and transaction details to manage payments, subscriptions, refunds, and required records. We do not store full card numbers or security codes.

We do not sell or rent personal information, share it for advertising, or publish your private work. We use service providers only as needed to host and operate the site, sign you in, process payments, and deliver a report you choose to send to our private Discord inbox. We may also disclose information if required by law.

Free membership uses your Discord ID and display name to identify your account. We do not request your Discord messages or email. Private preset, variant, benchmark and report-note drafts are stored in your account so you can return to your work. A temporary copy on your device supports offline editing and sync. Raw logs are inspected locally and are not automatically saved to your account.

Your drafts and account are private by default. A creator profile becomes visible only when you explicitly list a public preset. Creating an unlisted share link allows other signed-in members with that link to read that shared copy; listing a preset also makes its description and creator profile publicly discoverable. Neither action makes your other drafts public.

If you contact us, we use the information you provide to respond. We retain information only as long as needed for these purposes or required by law.

For privacy questions or requests to access, correct, or delete your information, contact universalmodsupport@gmail.com. Some records may need to be retained by law.

Free membership, sign-in & recovery

UMOD membership is free. You may create an account using a username and password or a verified Steam or Discord identity. We do not require an email address or send automated account or marketing email. Passwords are salted and securely hashed; they are never stored as readable passwords. We store your sign-in username, terms acceptance date, hashed session tokens, recovery-code hash, and basic browser labels for your signed-in devices. Failed sign-in attempts are rate-limited using temporary hashed identifiers.

Your permanent UMOD member ID owns your saved work and remains independent of Steam and Discord IDs. Linking a provider requires your consent and verification on that provider’s website. Steam verification confirms control of the Steam account; it does not inspect game ownership, purchases, inventory or library history. Discord authorization requests only basic identity. Provider passwords and access tokens are not retained.

Save your single-use recovery code privately, or link another sign-in method, so you can recover access without email. Resetting your password signs out other devices and replaces your recovery code. Session cookies expire after 30 days. Account settings let you revoke sessions, unlink providers when another sign-in remains available, export your data, and delete your membership.

Deleting a membership removes its website profile, linked identities, private drafts, shared presets, website report history and stored logs. Reports already delivered to Discord may remain with UMOD staff; contact universalmodsupport@gmail.com for removal requests. Payment records may be retained for accounting and fraud prevention, detached from the deleted membership. Deleting a membership or unlinking Discord does not cancel a support subscription; use the Stripe billing portal to manage it.

Server registry

When you publish a server listing, its name, region, play style, language, schedule, UMOD tools, description, community link, optional public server address and your UMOD display name become public. Listings are tied to your permanent UMOD member ID. You can edit or remove your own listings from the registry. Account export includes your listings; account deletion removes them. Listings are community supplied and do not verify server ownership or live status.

Support link attribution

Support links may include a public source label, such as Discord, YouTube, or a UMOD mod, so we can understand which release pages lead to support. Stripe stores this label with the checkout reference. Source labels do not contain your game identity, email, or billing name and do not grant account recognition. They do not use advertising cookies or cross-site tracking. Linked-member checkout also uses a random reference to associate verified payments with the membership that requested it.

Workshop, community & Discord

Free members’ preset, variant, benchmark and report-note drafts save privately to their accounts. Offline changes wait on the device until they can sync. Clearing browser data removes unsynced edits; account saves remain available after sign-in. Download important exports as backups. Raw logs are checked locally and sent only when you review and submit a report.

Your free membership stores an internal member ID, account session, display name and optional creator bio. Linked Discord or Steam accounts store only their verified provider ID, display name and link date. Provider linking is optional for workshop use. We do not request Discord messages or email, or Steam purchase and inventory history. Public preset descriptions and the profiles of members who explicitly publish public presets are visible to visitors. Opening a shared preset in the workshop requires free membership. Copy rankings use weekly hashed member identifiers; raw IP addresses are not stored in the ranking database.

Support forms and reviewed logs are stored privately and sent to the UMOD team’s private Discord forum. Automatic redaction is a helper, not a guarantee: review logs before sending. Only explicit staff replies are sent back to your website account; internal Discord discussion stays private. Reviewed follow-ups you send from your account go to the same private staff thread. Discord administrators may access private channels.

When you link Discord before paying, payment references can connect your supporter status with your Discord roles. Support announcements are anonymous for new accounts by default. You can choose to use your server nickname or display name in your account settings. Billing names, addresses, emails, and payment details are not published in announcements. Stripe continues to handle payment information. Discord unlinking removes the managed supporter roles; it does not cancel a payment subscription. Unlinked announcements stay anonymous.

Contact universalmodsupport@gmail.com to request removal or correction of a linked identity, profile, report, or submitted log, or to report misuse of the app. Discord-connected features must follow Discord’s terms, community guidelines and minimum-age requirements. Some payment records may need to be retained for accounting or fraud prevention. No third-party advertising trackers or paid AI log analysis are used by the workshop.
